Craps Game Strategy

Craps can be considered a battle between you and the house. The only way to win a battle is with a good strategy. There are two strategies that will help you get the most out of your Craps experience and minimize the potential losses you may incur. By using a good strategy, you will give yourself the upper hand.

Game Strategy #1

playing craps in casino

The first craps strategy has to do with placing numbers. For example, placing the six for $12. You can never tell how good or bad a roll is going to be ahead of time—wouldn’t that be nice. Many craps players fall into one of two categories in regards to place bets. They either leave their bet up and take the initial win over and over or they take their bet down and miss out on a big roll. The term to remember here is “press”. When you press your bet, you increase it. A good strategy is to take the winnings on your first hit and then press on the next hit. Follow that with a rotation of taking and pressing.

Craps Strategy #2

Always take the maximum odds on your passline bets—if you can afford it. This might seem obvious to many winning Craps players, but you would be surprised how many players take either no odds or minimum odds on their bets. The passline bet inCraps is one of the best bets in the casino. Always take the maximum amount they allow. It’s in your best interest to do so. If you are new to craps, ask the dealer if you bet is correct. Many players place incorrect bets on their odds and they lose odds as a result. For example, if the point is an eight, the correct odds bet is $10, not $12 (like a place bet). If you bet $12, you would be paid, but you would not receive bonus odds pay on the incorrect $2.

Remember, a good craps strategy can turn a losing craps player into a winning craps player. Don’t walk up to the table without a strategy on how to play in mind.
